A facial is a customized skin care service that cleanses, exfoliates and nourishes your skin, usually with a massage and a mask. At SALT Salon + Spa in Antioch, IL, our esthetician is a certified FarmHouse Fresh Skin Therapist, and every facial is tailored to your skin type, your concerns and how your skin feels that day.
What Kinds of Facials Does SALT Offer?

Signature Facial. A relaxing facial customized from start to finish. It includes a double cleanse, exfoliation, extractions when needed, a mask and a lip scrub, finished with serums and moisturizer. A hand, arm, upper chest, neck and foot massage with warm booties comes with it.

Signature Facial+. Everything in the Signature, with a double facial mask and a longer massage that reaches the shoulders, neck and lower legs.

Targeted Facial. A peel facial built around one skin concern you want to focus on, such as build up or uneven tone. It can take up to about 45 minutes depending on how sensitive your skin is, and includes a neck, hand and arm massage.

Seasonal Facial. A facial for skin affected by seasonal changes. The products change with the season and can be customized to your skin. Ask what is on the menu right now.

Mini Facial. A shorter 30 minute facial. It is a great fit for teens, as a first skin consultation, or as an express option.

LED Light Therapy. A professional LED mask paired with a cleanse, serum, moisturizer and a hand and arm treatment.
How Often Should You Get a Facial?
There is no single answer, because skin is different for everyone. A facial can be monthly, seasonal, before an event, or whenever your skin needs attention. We use FarmHouse Fresh, an organic skin care line, along with Sorella Apothecary in our signature treatments. We choose our products with care, and we are happy to tell you what is in anything that goes on your skin. Our approach is sensory as much as it is skin deep, so we bring massage and aromatherapy into our services.
Should I Get Dermaplaning or Microdermabrasion?
These are two different ways to exfoliate. Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade to gently sweep away dead surface skin and fine facial hair, which can leave skin feeling smooth and makeup sitting more evenly. Microdermabrasion uses a handheld device to exfoliate the surface of the skin. Both are about comfort and how your skin looks and feels, and neither is a medical treatment. Will Dermaplaning Make My Hair Grow Back Thicker?

What Should I Do Before and After a Facial?

If you want to unwind and have your whole skin care routine looked after, the Signature is the one, with the Signature Facial+ when you want a longer, deeper massage. If you have a specific concern you want to work on, such as build up or uneven tone, the Targeted Facial is built around it. If your skin changes with the weather, the Seasonal Facial keeps up with it.
