Hair services at SALT Salon + Spa in Antioch, IL cover balayage and lightening, hair color, French haircuts and styling, and smoothing and scalp treatments, for women, men and kids. What Is Included With Every Hair Service?

• Lightening services include Metal Detox and Bond Repair products, a customized toner and a professional blow dry.
• Color services include our signature shampoo experience and a blow dry finish, with color from Moroccanoil.
• Women's haircuts include time to consult, a scalp massage with a hot towel treatment, and a blow dry style.

We also bring massage and aromatherapy into our services, because a hair appointment should leave you feeling looked after, not only looking finished.

Why Do All of Our Stylists Cut and Color the Same Way?

Because they learn it together. Our founder has been in the salon industry since 2003, has been a licensed cosmetology instructor since 2016, teaches balayage classes for Sunlights Pro, and provides advanced haircutting, coloring and professional development training for the SALT team. Newer stylists are mentored by more experienced ones, and the team keeps learning through advanced education with Sunlights Balayage, Davines and Eleven Australia.

Which Hair Service Should You Book First?

Start with what bothers you most right now:

• If it is your shape, book a French haircut.
• If it is gray or a faded shade, book hair color or a gloss.
• If you want brightness and dimension, book balayage.
• If your hair is frizzy and takes too long to style, ask about a Brazilian blowout.
• If your color went wrong somewhere, book a Transformation consultation for color correction.

When two goals overlap, such as a cut and color, book them together and tell us, so we can plan the order and the time.

How Do You Keep Your Hair Healthy Between Visits?

Using the right products every day makes the biggest difference. We carry Davines, an Italian hair care line, Eleven Australia, a vegan hair care line, Sunlights balayage care and Moroccanoil, with organic, vegan, gluten-free, sulfate-free and paraben-free options. We will suggest a short routine you will actually use, not a long list. Ask about a Malibu treatment if hard water leaves your hair dull, or K18 Molecular Repair after lightening.

We also recycle salon waste through SalonCycle, and we partner with brands that give back.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I Need a Consultation Before My First Hair Appointment?

Every service begins with a consultation in the chair. A Transformation, our color correction service, requires a separate in-salon consultation first, because the plan depends on what is already in your hair.

Can I Book a Haircut and Color in the Same Visit?

Yes. Book both and tell us, so we leave enough time and plan the order of services around your hair.

What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

A valid card is required to secure appointments and a 50% deposit is collected at booking. Changes or cancellations within 24 hours are charged 75% of the scheduled services, and no-shows are charged 95%. We waive one cancellation fee per year for unforeseen circumstances.

What If I Am Not Happy With My Cut or Color?

Let us know within seven days of your visit, and we will do our best to adjust your cut or color at no additional charge.

Can I Bring My Children?

Yes, and kids ten and under can book a children's haircut. If you bring a child under 10 who is not getting a service, another adult who is not getting a service needs to stay with them.
